Research and Development Liver Project Scientist Intern
Miromatrix is a biotechnology company on a mission to save and drastically improve countless lives by eliminating the organ transplant waiting list. Through our proprietary perfusion decellularization and recellularization technology, we are bioengineering human livers and kidneys to solve the large unmet clinical need that exists today. Our decellularization technology has been used to manufacture our commercialized liver-derived soft tissue reinforcement, MIROMESH®, and advanced wound care, MIRODERM® products, and will provide the foundation for our advanced whole-organ products.
Miromatrix has a 3-month paid internship opening for a highly-motivated individual who wants to join our team in a fast-paced, results-oriented work environment. We are looking for a talented Scientist to intern with our Liver Project. In this role, primary responsibilities will include:
Liver cell isolation
Mammalian Cell Culture
Bioreactor maintenance and sampling
Preparation of isolation and cell culture solutions
Preparing and autoclaving supplies
Miromatrix seeks an individual who has completed at least their junior year in one of the Biological Sciences, Physical Sciences or Engineering disciplines including Tissue or Biomedical engineering. The candidate will be proficient in cell biology and aseptic technique. Excellent organizational, verbal, written, and interpersonal skills are essential as well as enthusiasm for a collaborative work culture.
Preference will be given to candidates with prior biological laboratory and cell culture experience. Individuals with a Masters or PhD are encouraged to apply.
